I can see how people can get attached to that place. I agree, though, the weather- at least relative to SF- would be a tough one. San Francisco weather is like the perfect blend of the Portland-Seattle-Vancouver corridor, SoCal, and a fall/winter mix from the Northeast. It has an unmistakable feel.

Thanks for the comment on my SF post. I have only been to Portland twice, but it is somewhere we have considered living. Drop me in San Francisco with a blindfold, ears completely plugged, and I will tell you in seconds where I am.

I feel like a goober sometimes for missing San Francisco so much. But, even when I thought for a split second, that I might have let it go, the feeling of attachment to The City just comes storming back. For better or worse, we are basically locked into LA for just under two more years... (21 months to be exact)... and the good thing is (a) there is work to be completed here, (b) we can position ourselves over this time financially and otherwise for the give and take required to live in SF, and (c) there are worse places than LA to bide one's time for 21 months!

I know you called yourself superficial in passing because Anna you are far from a surface scratch. Sincerely, a beer, glass of wine... you name it, I more than owe it to you, someone I have yet to meet!
